PERSONAL:
I was born September 2, 1951 in Albany, Georgia
to John K. and Lillian E. Ferrell. I have one brother, John K. Ferrell, Jr. and
one sister, Susan E. Ferrell Coates. I have three nephews: John K. Ferrell III,
Donovan M. Ferrell, Wesley T. Ferrell, and one niece: Lara L. Coates.
I
have been blessed with a heritage of Patriots; my Father and two Uncles served
in WWII, and one of my ancestors fought with William “Light Horse” Lee during
the American Revolution and was present at the capture of Cherry Bridge,
N.C and the second capture of Fort
Augusta.
I
am a member of Albany
Bible Church
in Albany, GA.
My Air Force Specialty was
Security Police Supervisor. I was
qualified up to and including industrial espionage/sabotage and protection of
the President of the U.S.
I am versatile as an Artist. My
specialty is "Print Making". I have earned a living doing
architectural delineations, prints, pen and ink illustrations, drawings, and
oil painting. Working as an Army Illustrator I became proficient using the 35mm
camera, Forox camera, Pos I and ITEK 560. My favorite subject to draw is
children with charcoal or pencil. My favorite genre is oil painting landscapes.
EDUCATION:
All my Primary and Secondary Education
was in the Dougherty County, Georgia Public School system, except 2 years in Athens, Georgia.
I attended Albany
High school, where I was
active in Band, Track, and Judo, and graduated in 1970 in the top 25% of my
class.
Before joining the USAF, I attended
Valdosta State College for 2 years, participating in USAF ROTC, Band, Stage
Band, Ensembles, Trios and Quartets, and was accepted in Zeta
Gamma Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity.
In 1979 I received my Bachelors Degree
in Liberal Arts, with a major in Art from Valdosta State College, and continued
my art studies at the University
of North Dakota. After my medical discharge from USAF, I was
trained as a Medical Illustrator at Eisenhower
Army Medical
Center, Ft. Gordon, GA.

I have Art displayed in numerous Art
Collections in the U.S.,
Austria,
Great Britain,
Turkey,
and Russia. In the U.S., I have Art displayed in the
Valdosta State University Art Collection, U.S. Army Art Collection, US Army
Signal Center Museum Ft. Gordon, GA, Special Warfare School Art Collection Ft.
Bragg, NC, Art Collection of The Veteran’s Party of America, and Korean War
Memorial Collection. I also have Art
displayed in the private collections of: Sam Nunn, Ernest Hollings, Strom
Thurmond, Doug Barnard, and George H. W. Bush.
I have completed illustrations for
Army Manuals, and graphics for Pentagon and Whitehouse briefings. My art work has also been published in
numerous Medical and Dental Journals and the Journal of Family Practice.
