Encourage technology for alternative fuels. There is no reason the country should not use its technology, innovative skills and incentives to accomplish this goal.

If we hoard our oil and we are the only country left on this planet with reserves there will be a war.  Somebody will come and try to take it.

Trains can get in excess of 400 miles per gallon. If trains can be designed to do this so can vehicles.
