Lee Ferrell ties for top ranking by Conservative "Elect The Right Candidate.com" see link: http://electtherightcandidate.us/ETRC/GA_2.html

We need to eliminate all pork barrel spending, and support a balanced budget. Hiding amendments in bills that have nothing to do with the original topic is unacceptable. All bills need to be in simple language that anyone can understand. We need to limit the total number of amendments in each one to 5 and require them to be attached to the bill they amend.

I support a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, this has been part of my platform since 2008.  I support the ‘line item veto’ for the President.

We need to support the growth of the regional airport the Albany area.   The SWGA Regional Airport is already number 2 in the state for cargo aircraft.  We need to build up and support all the airports in the District including Tifton, Valdosta, Americus, Columbus, Dawson, Blakely, and Macon.   This would supply jobs for decades, improve the economy, and bring in new businesses.

We need to continue the I-185 spur in Columbus, down the West side of the district, to just north of Bainbridge, turning east through or near Thomasville, and connecting Valdosta. This would create jobs, and relieve traffic congestion and some of the pollution in Atlanta. It will shorten driving distances and conserve fuel. It will create jobs for decades, bring in tourism and business.

We will complete the by-pass around Albany and build spurs connecting most small towns with Albany and the new Interstate. And I will work with Jack Kingston to continue the Interstate toward Brunswick then up to Savannah.

We propose to build flood drains and levees around many of the rivers, especially the Flint. This would help with flooding, loss of life and property.

Reservoirs could be built in strategic places around the district that water could be pumped into during elevated water levels, and stored for periods of drought and local emergencies. This would also provide jobs for decades.

The 2nd Congressional district is the most neglected district in Georgia and has been since Reconstruction. I propose that Regional Offices not be in the highest rent areas available but in safe lower rent areas whereby 4 or 5 regional offices could be provided. Depending on the resources, offices could possibly be in Albany, Lumpkin, Thomasville, Bainbridge and Cordele.
